JIU JITSU SUIT
In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which is a martial art that focuses on ground grappling and submission techniques, practitioners typically wear a gi or kimono-style uniform. This uniform consists of a jacket or coat, pants, and a belt.
The jiu-jitsu coat, also known as a gi jacket, is typically made of a heavy cotton material and is designed to be durable and able to withstand the rigors of training and competition. The coat has a cross-over design with a collar that can be grabbed and used for submissions or control.
The jiu-jitsu coat comes in various colors, with white being the most common for beginners, and other colors signifying different levels of proficiency or rank within the sport. The coat can also feature patches or embroidery that display the practitioner’s gym or sponsor affiliations.
In addition to its practical use during training and competition, the jiu-jitsu coat is also an important symbol of tradition and respect within the BJJ community.
